I love garlic! I love it even more since I am pregnant! I cook with garlic almost on a daily basis, not to mention use it in home remedies! I stock up when I find garlic on sale. The best way I have found to store garlic is to mince and freeze it!  I do not mix the garlic with any type of oil when I do this due to not every recipe I use garlic with requires oil, especially home remedies!

Step 1: Split the garlic to the individual cloves.

Step 2: Peel the garlic.  My garlic press does not require me to peel the garlic first to press it, but I find that peeling it first prevents a ton of wasted garlic.

Step 3: Crush the garlic with a garlic press.  A food processor will also work for this, depending on how minced/crushed you would like the garlic.

Step 4: Place crushed/minced garlic in an ice-cube tray.  It is optional to add oil if all of your garlic uses involve oil.

Step 5: Cover with plastic wrap and place tray in the freezer for 4-8 hours until cubes are frozen solid.

Step 6: Crack all frozen cubes from tray and store in a freezer bag. Frozen cubes will be good for 3 months in a kitchen freezer or 6-9 months in a deep freezer!
