Recently we began to finish the basement. It isn’t quite done yet, but we were able to move all the furniture and the tv into the new room while we are still working on it. This is a true blessing since it allowed us to get the tv out of the living/dinning room.
We set up Bryson’s new computer last week. I am very happy that the boys haven’t been “playing” with it. We are actually using the desk that was from my husband’s childhood. The computer fits perfectly and the drawers give us room for storage.

We have a bookshelf that we were not using anywhere else next to the desk. The shelf hold the kid’s school books. Most of the books are the curriculum that we chose for Bryson and the DIY Preschool Homeschool Kit that I put together for Ian. We decorated the shelf with our pet fish, Goldfishie and a bouquet of flowers my wonderful hubby brought home for me ast week.

We also moved the kids small table into the living room. It is the perfect size for the boys to sit at for arts and crafts and school work. We added the floor mat to help with any arts and crafts type spills. I have to admit that I LOVE messy art!

Our living room and dinning room are attached. The boys have the option of sitting at our dining room table or their own smaller table to work on school work. As they get older school will be held around the dining room table.

The only thing that we need to add to the school room is our bulletin board. I am planning on hanging it above the bulletin board. I think it will be a great addition to the room and the boys will love being able to display their work!!
The best part of our school room is all of the natural lighting. I love that we decided to set up the school room in front of the big picture window! I think we are definitely on the road to a very successful school year!
